As a freshman, I really like the classes. The teachers help you understand the material and most classes teach the concepts in a memorable way. The sports coaches are experienced and hard working, my track coach pushes us to do our best through tough difficult exercises. There are many arts classes that are offered in a large variety. The other students are very friendly and you get to know people well in your classes. The school focuses too much on DEI. You don't want equity because equal outcome doesn't account for the work we put in. Diversity comes along if you have inclusion, you don't need to force it. Several events segregate us by race and gender. I've heard that the white groups during these events talk about how whiteness is bad, but the other ones just talk about anything. We are all American and should be proud of America, not our race. Punishment is rude, my friend got yelled at for mistakenly missing an assembly and was accused of being racist. Overall, great school.

The bush school is a great place to be! The DEI is great, but not overbearing, there are many student leadership opportunities, great support for college apps, great college, counseling, and great academics in general.

The Bush School is a farce. The Bush School allows unlimited applicants to apply every year, to simply collect funds from application fees. My son applied for his son this year. The rejection had to be found signing into a portal. The school did not even have the decency to send a direct email to the family after travel expenses, application fees, and time was spent applying. My grandson has parents that are LGBTQ. My grandson is an A/B student, involved in many activities. My sons were applying for financial aid so I am sure that was a deterrent as well. The Bush School claims to be inclusive but upon my son's tour he noticed that the school body was not diverse and full of white privilege. STAY AWAY! Inclusivity and diversity is not important to this school or the governing body and the school should stop hiding behind that facade.

Meh. Seattle is a very progressive city and I have thought of myself as a progressive too, but the curriculum at Bush is overbearing with DEI, social justice, and a focus on skin color and gender/sexuality above all else. It's like the new religion. There's more to life and learning than that. It's simply too much to the point of indoctrination. Bush isn't teaching our kids how to think, but what to think. Even if this recipe works to get them into a like-minded prestigious university, I am concerned for beyond that when such rigid dogma is indoctinated from K and up. Some balance is needed and it's not Bush.

The teachers mostly suck in my experience here. I swear they purposefully separate people who are friends so they can apparently get to know more people which is bs. Also teachers 100% have favorites, once one of my teachers yelled at a kid for not doing there homework and I forgot too so I told that teacher and they said that it was fine after he had just yelled at a kid for not doing the same assignment I forgot about.

Quite frankly, this is an odd school. I did not enjoy my time here whatsoever. We spent more time learning about pronouns than we did traditional school subjects. I left the school with little knowledge. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

The best parts of my experience include retreats, e-weeks, lower school years, and my advisory. The worst parts include how everyone (in 7th grade at least) gossips about each other and bullies each-other and there is just so much drama and so many rumors it’s terrible for everyone’s mental health and the teachers do nothing, it’s honestly so stressful.

If you are paying college-level tuition for your child, you expect more than enhanced personalized attention and smaller class sizes than public schools. You expect an education that expands the mind, that warrants the sticker price in the same way you would a college and it's diverse curriculum. While this school has always had and maintains an amazing music and arts program (which its known for), it could do a much better job of hiring STEM teachers, teaching kids to write, and practicing what it preaches with student behavior. The administration is great at listening but proved, for us, poor at responding to issues. In fairness, it's hard to compare to other private schools unless you experience more than one school. For expensive private schools in the area, it probably gets a third star but as an experience, this rating is a fair representation of our experience.

The best thing about the school is the kind and thoughtful staff and teachers. The teachers make sure they understand your child and what motivates them. They encourage critical
thinking and focus on preparing students with a self awareness of their skills and also where they can improve. Very happy with how my child is thriving in lower school.

I transferred here my sophom*ore year and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Classes are engaging, college counseling is superb, most teachers are caring and accommodating, and the campus is beautiful. I would say that since the class size is pretty small, the school say that the school isn't for everyone.

Bush feels like a small liberal arts college in Seattle. And the academics feel like college too! Round table discussions, experience project learning, high teacher to student ratio.

Its not the best it isnt that diverse and doesnt provide as much academics. I think its pretty over rated and over priced. You could get even better education from a public school for way less money.

A great school with an excellent focus on experiential education. I had a great time there. It won't be for everyone, especially considering it's quite small, but it's a school that I'm very glad I went to.

I attended the Bush School from k-12 in my experience the schools elementary and middle school was good. They allowed for kids to explore their passions and instilled independent as well as critical thinking at a young age. I am extremely grateful for the Bush high school in helping me get into college and teach me critical skills for the professional world. However, with a student population that is as privileged as this one, and primarily white, students who are on financial aid as well as identify as a person of color constantly have to put up safeguards to protect their racial identity and socio-economic standing. The school also disregards students' mental health and doesn't have qualified counselors to assist students with mental illness. The Bush School praises itself for its diversity but its demographics don't reflect diversity in any capacity other than utilizing students of color in acts of tokenism.

They tout their teacher to student ratio's in the classroom, but from what I saw the classrooms are so tiny and claustrophobic that they have no other choice. Everything appears very dated and out of touch, I suppose it has high appeal to pretentious types but without the quality you'd expect for the price. Music and theatre and lacking and they're not large enough for a decent athletic department. The area is now surrounded by homeless and decrepit RV's horrible traffic.
